On a recent late night trip from New York Penn station, I was walking to the train behind a conductor, number 425820, who was also walking towards the train, when she turned her head and SPIT on the escalator of another track as she was walking past. She looked at me and I said, "That was disgusting." to which she replied "Next time It'll be on you."
I was disgusted that an employee in uniform would behave like this, spitting inside the station, but was completely stunned that an employee of NJ Transit would threaten a passenger in that manner.
I have been a customer riding NJ Transit for over 10 years now. I respect the difficult job that conductors must do, and most of them do a great job. This person does not reflect even the most basic standards of what should be expected of a conductor.
