A month into this summer of transit Hades, rail commuter Karl Zielaznicki finally had enough.

After receiving two or three e-mail alerts almost daily warning about yet another delay on the tracks, Zielaznicki, a lawyer who commutes from Aberdeen Township to New York City, started taking the bus.

"Only NJ Transit could make a train ride go slower than a bus ride," he said.
